Being a fitness model is the new black

So I dress a lot of women who have lost weight. To be honest, besides clothing sales, my main income is from these women, who want their look to reflect their new confident, sexy self's. And to be honest I love this kind of work. I love helping women evolve into what they want to be. I love dressing women to their shape, and accentuating their best features. However, I have realised with the slew of these new fitter women that there has emerged a new trend.

Fitness modelling.

I have been doing some research, after I kept hearing about the new goal, after hitting their weight loss target is to be a fitness model, on The Book, and I have concluded that every third person is now a fitness model. It's made me wonder how they ALL survive, and whether they can all get jobs as fitness models? I have liked a few Facebook pages, and whilst I follow a fairly strict clean eating model, these girls are clearly a whole different ball game.

I have also come to the decision that the wardrobe of a fitness model is gym clothes, bikini's and baby oil. I think I can make gym clothes, and probably bikini's but the real money will be in selling all three as a package :)

I am also wanting to speak to someone who is. I would like to advise ladies on healthy lifestyle changes. Like I said I follow a clean eating guide but would like to speak to the people that these ladies obviously admire as their lifestyle is a lot more intense than my gym 4 times a week. Hopefully someone will reply & help me out.

I really don't understand.....

This sunglasses fad. I don't. I challenge anyone to tell me that they look great in them. Because I'm going to say after seeing them on countless stars, that they don't. They just look plain ridiculous.

It's not very often I say I don't like something, I tend to work in trends with other more timeless pieces, that way I don't have to buy a whole new wardrobe every 3-6 months to keep in with the fashions, instead just key items.

But these..... I just cant bring myself to wear them. Why would I want to wear something that makes me look like mini mouse? What is the purpose of the pull up lenses?

Personally I blame Lady Gaga.......

Horrific!

A whole post about Milk???

Black Milk to be exact. At Ari&Charli it is our FAVOURITE brand. We own a vast variety of swimsuits, leggings & dresses. And now that they have bought out shoes - DIE!

You're probably sitting there wondering how a whole post can be about Lycra shiny numbers, well let me tell you about Black Milk. Once people got over the shock that I paid $75 for a pair of leggings (let me tell you I've paid a whole lot more for a whole lot less) they had to admit that any of the 5 pairs of leggings from Black Milk that I currently own (looking to expand as they have a release today & then one in a few weeks) always look fabulous. They are different, normally quite bold in their design. And fit like nothing else.

And then they see my swimsuits. Now being a smaller person in stature & size most people are shocked (HORRIFIED!!!) that I don't wear a two piece, but I don't. I love my Black Milk swimsuits. I love the designs. I love that they each are individual & tell a different story.

I also love their website. I love that if I am uncertain about a piece (unless it is a new release) that they have pictures of the fans wearing the pieces at the bottom of the sales pitch.

I love that they fit all sizes and shapes of girls. I love that the young & the young at heart wear them...

I love that their FB fan page is like a whole society of women (and some men) who band together & tell each other how fabulous we are. We give each other advice & if I'm honest I feel like whenever I go on that page I get a bigger boost from it then some of the clean eating support pages I belong to. No one is negative. We are all there for one reason - the reason being we love Black Milk

To be honest there isn't much I don't love about them.

Get yourself a piece from Black Milk - I promise you wont be disappointed!

Prints, printed print

I love bold prints. I love them on jackets, I love them on pants, shorts. SHIRTS! Bold prints - bring them to me!! Here at Ari&Charli our new obsession (ask any of the girls here) are our printed pants and matching printed jacket.

We each have a pair of bold printed pants. Which are normally teamed with a white shirt. But we've lately discovered the printed jacket. Which can I say I don't find too matchy-matchy at all. When teamed with a simple white shirt I actually find looks amazing.

A great look for a casual day at work, or simply a night out for dinner with the girls.

The best part of this looks is because it is so bright & bold you don't need to overdo the accessories, a simple statement ring (like above) is plenty. Teamed with a bright splash of nail polish, some bright lips and a black patent bag & shoes - you're ready to go!

Most shops have printed pants this season so make sure you hunt around for colours and styles that are going to work for you! And remember you don't HAVE to go the bold print. We have found these fabulous pastel floral print skinny leg jeans for sale & I think they may be my next wardrobe purchase.......

Gold Metal Belts

Also known as instant bling! I love a great belt at the best of times, but a shiny belt?? Where do I sign up? I love pulling in my waist in oversized tops and dresses. I especially love the above look. Gold Metal belt with cuffs? Instant lust.

I love that the gold metal belt it can instantly update an outfit from a bit drab to more than fab! Wear it with your favourite dress to add a waist, or to break up the block colour of your outfit, or team it with your favourite skirt/top combo! Make sure that any hardware on your bag is the same colour (you don't want a gold belt clashing with silver hardware). But have fun with the fabric, prints and colours.

As a warning, however, when choosing your belt you are better off sticking to a belt width that is medium or thin, don't choose the thick, wide belt as it will dominate your overall look, and if you are thicker through your waist it will have the effect of making you look bigger than you are. (And we definitely do not want that!!!)

Otherwise wear your shiny belt & let the compliments roll in!

Who doesn't love a bit of Kerr?

My current style QUEEN is Miranda Kerr, who DOESN'T love Miranda? That face - that body!

So I've decided to dedicate my first blog to Miranda & her amazing style (stylist - hairdresser - makeup artist - let's admit that her team never let her leave the house looking anything less than amazing) and how you too can achieve her style choices & work them into your wardrobe!

A fabulous curve hugging bandage dress for your next party is a guaranteed way of feeling like the belle of the ball. Ensure this spring that you pick an eye popping colour (coral or red) and work it with minimal accessories, black or jeweled pumps and a jeweled clutch. With so many different options of bandage dresses around there is one that will suit you with different necklines, colours and styles you will easily be able to find one that complements your shape & shows off your best body bit!

The Blazer (not the dog) - work the oversized boyfriend blazer over a pair of skinny legged jeans for a classic look. This spring we're also working the coloured blazer as opposed to the grey. If you are a bit cautious of colour the blazer is a great way to work it in this spring, easy to take off if you feel it's a bit much! Accessorize with layered bracelet and fabulous peeptoes!

And my favourite look for spring!! PRINTED PANTS.

I love printed pants. I cant help it, I am later going to dedicate a whole post to printed pants, with so many colours and styles around it's hard to go wrong with them. I team mine with a loose white singlet and high heeled sandals, bold statement bag and WORK THEM! Again an easy item for those who are weary of colour, with brights to pastels on the market they are an easy piece to insert into your wardrobe this spring.
